Here is a REAL testimonial from a REAL Vizio M261VP user:
5.0 out of 5 stars VIZIO M261VP:GREAT TV for the price!, March 12, 2011
This is a great size for the bedroom! I’ve had this TV for a few weeks and so far I have been very pleased with it.
I’ve read a lot of reviews from amazon, walmart, costco, etc. regarding this TV and most of the reviews are complaining about the sound quality. Well, I’m not an audiophile person so to me the sound quality is pretty good. Yes, there is a bit of a difference in terms of sound quality, but nothing crucial.
I read that one user said that the TV overheats? It doesn’t happen to mine. I usually go to bed with the TV on and it stays on for the entire night til morning (12 hours or more). The TV or the AC power doesn’t heat up. Maybe a tinyyyy bit warm, but that’s it.
I also stream Netflix on this device and it’s excellent. I still haven’t figure out to turn on the subtitle on some of the Netflix instant watch… or maybe there you can’t do it on this TV. Anyway, I’m really glad with this purchase. I would buy it again if I need one.
Ambient Lighting is achieved as energy efficient sensors auto-adjust brightness for the perfect picture regardless of room conditions.
Some more other key feature Vizio M261VP offer:
178/178 Degree Horizontal/Vertical Viewing Angle results in a crisp and clear picture that is easily visible from just about anywhere in the room. Two built-in 5-watt speakers provide room-filling sound.
How about Connections on Vizio M261VP?
HDMI (with HDCP): 2, Component: 1, RF: 1, PC input (RGB): 1, Ethernet: 1, SPDIF Digital Optical Output: 1, Headphone Output: 1 and USB: 1.
5.0 out of 5 stars VIZIO M261VP: definitely a contender, April 15, 2011
Sports-watcher, but not a gamer and have to say I love this 1080p machine! replaced a 2-ton Sony CRT 21″ with this model and M261 has easily surpassed my expectations. previous Sony had lo-fi sound to begin with, so surround-sound on this tv is certainly an improvement – sure, lacks bottom bass like majority of similar size, skinny LCD/LED sets out there but audio is crystal clear w/good separation even though the trebly side.
so a trade-off for mobility: light as feather! Anyway, can easily upgrade whole shebang by adding separate soundbar or speakers, no problema. wifi connectivity simple as 1-2-3 and built-in streaming apps work like charm. Picture quality/refresh rate/dynamics very satisfactory + ambient sensor a gem. what more can you ask in a 26″ set? for 6 more inches, you end up paying almost double. add to this a highly recommended Samsung BD-C6500 dvd player + HW-C451 soundbar (like I did) and you got yourself a suped-up little system for well under $1000.
